A drink for every mood

When I go out these days things look way differently than they did for me  a few years back. Since I've quit drinking, I still enjoy a night out dancing or a fancy dinner or a good old house party playing games and jamming to 2000's hits.  Although I've ditched the booze, I always have an AF drink in hand, for a few reasons:

  1. Less undesired conversations - I'm super proud of my decision not to drink but I like to control when I talk about it and when I don't. Sometimes I don't want to deal with questions or unwarranted opinions that, sadly, not having a drink in hand in a room of drinkers still opens you up to. Having a cool AF beer, wine or mocktail puts the ball in my court to talk about my non-existent relationship with alcohol.
  2. I don't know what else to do with my hands - WHY do I feel like I can't chat at parties without a drink in my hand?  Hm maybe because our entire adult lives we were taught we needed a drink in hand to socialize! Our brain associates parties and social settings with the behaviour of holding and sipping on something. Sure, I could work to break this habit but see point 1 and 3 :)
  3. They're f*cking good - water is greaaaat and all but it doesn't always hit the spot. Did you ever pair wines with meals? I love the aspect of pairing drinks with different foods and that absolutely does not stop with alcohol (hello, milk and cookies). I pair my AF drinks with different meals all the time and it really takes my meals to the next level - I'll have to do a separate article on this soon!
  4. Because people who aren't drinking alcohol deserve fancy cocktails too :D  I KNOW you didn't get all dressed up on your Friday night to drink an orange juice or a coca cola. We deserve bad a$$ drinks to match our bad a$$ vibes.
So there you have it, as if we even needed reasons for all of these good times in a bottle!  Let's get to it, today I'm going to share with you what my go to drinks are for my nights out. I'm going to break this down by occasion because first rule of AF drinks is to have a go-to drink for every mooooood:
